Paper tourist cards (FMM forms) are a thing of the past for air arrivals at Cancun International Airport. Modernization has replaced paper forms with automated e-Gates and digital passport stamps for travelers from the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe.

Walk straight off the plane to the immigration hall. Scan your physical passport at the automated e-Gates or present it to an officer. Your entry is logged digitally, and the officer will stamp your passport with your granted number of stay days. Keep your physical passport secure throughout your stay, as your passport stamp serves as your official entry record.

Step 2: Baggage Claim & Customs Exit

After passing immigration, follow the signs directly down to baggage claim. Once you retrieve your luggage, walk through the main customs corridor. Step 3: Navigating “The Shark Tank”

After clearing customs, you will walk through a set of sliding glass doors into the internal arrival hall, widely known among travelers as “The Shark Tank.”

Sales representatives inside this room often dress in official-looking uniforms and will call out to check your transportation or offer “free” taxis. Keep walking steadily through the hall without stopping until you pass through the final doors leading completely outside.

Step 4: Locating Your Pre-Arranged Transfer

Pre-booking airport transportation prior to departure ensures a smooth transition to your resort.

• Outside Curbside Staging: Once outside, you will enter an open-air holding area where staff members hold signboards, clipboards, or wear company-branded shirts.
• Private vs. Shared Transfers: Private transfers route you directly to your resort without extra stops. Shared transfers board multiple guests heading to adjacent properties along the hotel corridor.
• Finding Your Vendor: Locate the representative matching your booked company. They will verify your name on their arrival manifest and escort you directly to your vehicle.

When your driver reaches your property, they will check in with the 24/7 security gate guard to verify your reservation before entering the grounds.
