Texas

When we decided to move from the Kansas City area, we purposefully chose Texas due to its weather, its geographic diversity, the many opportunities here, and did I mention the weather?

We have visited most of the populous areas of Texas, like Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin, and lived in 2 of these. We have talked about the geological diversity of the United States, but except for the mountains and cold weather, Texas is a microcosm of the U.S.

You have the beaches along the Gulf of Mexico, the rolling hills and wineries found in the Hill Country, and the tall pines of East Texas. You have the Keep it Weird vibe of Austin (not to mention its bats), and you have the true cowboy lands of West Texas. We even have the little Grand Canyon of Palo Duro Canyon State Park or Big Bend National Park.
