Karisma Hotels & Resorts
First to provide a special Autism Passport
Karisma’s Commitment to Guests with Autism
Karisma Resorts has reaffirmed its focus on providing an excellent experience for persons with special needs such as autism, with the introduction of an Autism Passport.
Karisma had already showed its commitment by being one of the first resort chains to become Certified as Autism Aware in 2021 which means that every staff at every resort who interacts with the public has completed the Autism Double-Checked Foundation Course in “Assisting Guests with Autism”,
In 2022, Karisma enhanced their certification to Autism Ready after completing more intensive training. The first resorts to attain this designation were:
In 2023, Karisma reached the highest certification level of Autism Double-Checked providing visitor guides, and the first-ever Autism Concierge, providing a dedicated contact for all autism-related questions. Additionally, they introduced temporary door alarms upon guest request, providing guests a true vacation with peace of mind knowing their loved ones are safe and secure.
Now, in 2024, Karisma has furthered its inclusiveness objectives by implementing an Autism Passport. This Passport is a comprehensive tool for guests to convey essential information such as communication challenges, sensory activities, special interests, emotional triggers, and calming strategies to staff members who will facilitate their stay. This document, accessible online, offers visitors a means to communicate their unique needs with Karisma hotels ahead of their stay as well as certified airlines and airports.
Julie and I are excited that Karisma Hotels & Resorts is leading the way toward creating an inclusive environment whereby guests with special needs and their caretakers can truly enjoy their vacation. We are proud to promote their Autism Double-Checked resorts:
